Hi, and a very warm welcome to the Risk Collective!

I’m Vicky, a single (separated), working mum who stumbled into editing this rather fabulous site, due not only to the fact that I am a freelance journalist, but by a driving and innate need to reach out and find fellow females who have perhaps found themselves in the same position as me, desperate to find some inspiration and fun outside of the childcare, working to pay bills, housework and general monotony of everyday survival.

There is so much more to me and to life than that, and sometimes I get so plate-smashingly frustrated that I just want to pack up some ‘ol big comfy pants and a toothbrush, grab my passport (and my little girl, of course) and jump on the first flight outta here to find an adventure and take a risk on living life and feeling alive… that, obviously being a bit impractical, I instead tend to go online and let off a little brain-steam, share ideas and discussions and find things that make me think outside of the box with all you fab chicks…. after all, as the Moody Blues once sang… ‘Thinking is the best way to travel’.
