This book is about a young Irish teacher called Emma whose life falls apart when her boyfriend dies in a tragic accident. Emma feels lost as he was also her soulmate.
Her friends (each with a colourful story of their own), become her life support. As she grieves Emma begins to learn about herself and eventually ends up falling in love again.
I found it quite a page-turner and having suffered my own personal loss (who hasn’t), found I could identify with the pain and honest torment of the main character. Anna McPartlin manages to convey grief in a believable way, whilst having some well-constructed comic moments, too.
A good girly night-in book, but have the tissues to hand!

Pack up the Moon by Anna McPartlin is published by Penguin/Michael Joseph in paperback, and costs £6.99.
