The Parkinson’s Disease Society is launching its Trek Spain challenge event as the perfect antidote to the winter blues and it is looking for 22 more volunteers to take part in the adventure and help raise vital funds for the Parkinson’s Disease Society.

Trek Spain is your opportunity to mix travelling, charity work and getting fit in warmer climes and takes place from 10-14 June 2010 in the stunning scenery of the Sierra Nevada mountains, surrounded by orchards and vineyards.

One of this year’s trekkers is Jean Taylor who is taking the challenge in memory of her husband who had Parkinson’s. She hopes to raise over £2,000 for Parkinson’s research.

The Parkinson’s Disease Society is totally dependent on voluntary donations and all sponsorship raised by the trek will help fund cutting edge research to find better treatments and a cure for Parkinson’s.

There is a £250 registration fee and the minimum sponsorhip required is £1,500. To find out more or to sign up for Trek Spain contact the events team on 020 7963 9309 or visit parkinsons.org.uk/events.
